Policy Statement:
It is the policy of the Clayton State University Library to establish hours of operation that meet the study and research needs of the Clayton State University
community.
Reason for Policy:
Library policies are created to assist students, faculty/staff, and community users with developing a welcoming and inviting
study and research space within the library facility. Each policy explains who, how,
and when the library building, resources, etc. can be accessed. In the event library
property becomes lost or damaged, or there is a disturbance during operating hours,
policies and procedures explain how these matters will be resolved.
Policy Scope:
This policy applies to all employees and patrons of the Clayton State University library.
Policy:
The library will determine standard hours of operation based on the University’s academic calendar. In unforeseen circumstances (e.g., staffing shortages, power or Internet outages,
severe weather, or other emergencies), changes to hours and building access may become
necessary. These changes may affect one or both levels of the library building.
Semester hours are posted online at clayton.libcal.com/hours
Library staff will communicate any deviations to our hours via the library website, social media channels and, when possible, physical signage in the library.
The library building will be closed and our chat service unavailable on days designated as official holidays by the university.
