Counseling Veteran Students. This Website features online training modules including "Operation SAVE" for suicide prevention, "PTSD 101" and "Helping Students Who Drink Too Much." It also features a resource list that will be updated regularly. Although the Website is designed primarily for counselors, it also serves as a resource for Veteran-students who wish to learn more about the challenges they may face in adjusting to their lives after leaving the military.

The Computer/Electronic Accommodation Program (CAP) works closely with service members across the nation to ensure they receive appropriate assistive technology for their needs, including vision or hearing loss, dexterity impairments, and cognitive difficulties.
Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America. IAVA is the country's first and largest nonprofit, nonpartisan organization for veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. With more than 200,000 Member Veterans and civilian supporters nationwide, IAVA is building the next greatest generation with a three-pronged model based on advocacy, awareness, and assistance. IAVA programs empower our community online and offline, and include Smart Job Fairs, our signature New GI Bill calculator and Community of Veterans, a veterans only social network.
The Wounded Warrior Project website has many positive PTSD-related resources for veterans who are reintegrating into civilian life.
Student Veterans of America is a coalition of student veterans groups from college campuses across the United States. This organization works to develop new student groups, coordinate between existing student groups, and advocate on behalf of student veterans at the local, state, and national level.
Healing4Heroes (H4H) www.Healing4Heroes.org is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting our military service members and veterans lead healthy, productive lives. Our objective is to connect sounded service members, as well as those with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Traumatic Brain Injury, with certified service dogs.

Shepherd Center www.shepherd.org is a private, not-for-profit hospital founded in 1975 in Atlanta, Ga., that specializes in medical treatment for people with TBI, spinal cord injury, chronic pain and other neuromuscular injuries or illnesses. The SHARE Military Initiative www.shepherd.org/share is a comprehensive rehabilitation program that focus on assessment and treatment for service members and veterans who have sustained a mild to moderate traumatic brain injury and PTSD from the Afghanistan and Iraqi conflicts. SHARE provides assistance, support and education to service members and their families during their recovery treatment and beyond. In addition, the program compiles data that is beneficial to policy and legislative change to provide for unfunded services.
Iraq War Clinician Guide- Now changed to “National Center for PTSD” http://www.ptsd.va.gov/ is affiliated with the VA, the NCPTSD aims to advance the clinical care and social welfare of veterans through research, education and training on PTSD and stress-related disorders. Braveheart www.braveheartveterans.org is an education, outreach and treatment program for Veterans, Service Members, and their families, who are dealing with PTSD. Emory University School of Medicine/ Trauma & Anxiety Recovery Program and the Atlanta Braves have teamed up for this project to assist those in need throughout AL, SC and GA.
Care for the Troops www.CareForTheTroops.org operate in an interfaith, non-political manner, focusing on the humanitarian interest that benefits the veterans and their families. Our mission is to work to improve the civilian mental health infrastructure in the State of Georgia and nationally; to work with military family members; to educate civilian groups about the military culture and trauma associated with military deployments; and provide more effective referrals and care.
