Industry Outlook

The job outlook for information technology is strong as the profession is considered a high-demand career. Employment is projected to grow by 13 percent from 2020 to 2030, adding about 667,600 new jobs to the workforce, faster than the average of all occupations. Job seekers can find careers as application developers, IT security analyst, database designer, and web developers.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median annual wage for computer and information technology occupations in May of 2022 was $91,250.

Student Learning Outcomes

The AASIT program is designed to prepare students to compete in the rapidly expanding IT industry.

Students will be able to:

  • Use and apply current IT discipline-related concepts and practices
  • Identify and analyze problems or opportunities in the IT realm
  • Define requirements, design, and develop effective IT-based solutions and integrate them into the user environment
